Stuart Pearce’s son Harley died last week when he lost control of his tractor due to a flat tire in an accident on the dangerous road, which has seen fatalities in the past.
Local residents say Stuart Pearce’s son Harley has died in an accident on a dangerous road. Harley Pearce, who was just 21 years old at the time of her death, reportedly lost control of her tractor after it suffered a flat tire, veering off a steep hill and onto a wooded embankment.
Hurley was towing a trailer of apples on a country road near his family home in Wiltshire when he was involved in the accident. He died at the scene in Whitcombe last Thursday, Gloucestershire Police confirmed.
Local resident Janine Taylor, 55, told The Sun: “It is a very steep and dangerous road and people were using it as a rat escape until work on the nearby A417 resumed. There was a fatality earlier this year and accidents and casualties are a regular occurrence. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of this young man.”
The family was left heartbroken by the tragic incident. Harley was the youngest of Stuart’s two children with ex-wife Liz. The couple also have a daughter, Chelsea, during their 20-year marriage, which ended in 2013.
A tribute to the family read: “Our family is truly shocked and completely heartbroken by the loss of Harley, our beloved son and devoted brother. A soul who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

“He was a golden boy with a contagious smile, and this shocking tragedy will leave a huge hole in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.
“We are so proud of the man he has grown to be, a man of quiet, unassuming strength and deep kindness who demonstrated great work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit in the agricultural industry. He will always be our shining star. Rest in peace, our beautiful son and brother. You will never be forgotten.”
Hurley ran his own company, Hurley Pearce Agricultural Services, and worked on farms across the Wiltshire and Gloucestershire border. Mr Hurley’s girlfriend Holly Watts visited the scene of the tragic accident and left flowers along with a handwritten note.
“To my honey, I love you forever. I’m so proud of you and us. I know you have my heart, and I know you have yours too. I will cherish it forever. Forever in our hearts. I love you! Love you Holly XXX.”
