Manchester United are reportedly considering a winter loan move for Real Madrid’s young talent Endrik. The 19-year-old has regained fitness following a hamstring injury but is yet to return to the pitch. Despite being named as a substitute in six consecutive games by Real manager Xabi Alonso, Endrik has been left out numerous times in favor of Gonzalo García.
His limited playing time dates back to last season under manager Carlo Ancelotti, when he started just eight games. Despite this, the forward made 37 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing one assist.
According to the Sunday People, Endrik, often referred to as the “second Ronaldo”, is increasingly keen to leave Madrid. He has reportedly told his representatives that he intends to step down in January unless there is a significant change in circumstances.
Manchester United are one of the clubs said to be interested in securing the teenager on loan in the new year. Juventus, Newcastle United and West Ham United are also reportedly interested.
French newspaper L’Equipe suggests Marseille are considering Endrick as a replacement for Amine Gouiri and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the African Cup of Nations.
Spanish clubs Real Sociedad and Valencia have also been mentioned as candidates, with Paris Saint-Germain also tentatively mentioned.
However, after Sunday’s 1-0 win against Getafe, Alonso mentioned the possibility of Endrik and Garcia leaving on loan in January.
“I’m not thinking about it at the moment. Both are ready to play. It’s a highly competitive position,” he said.
