Arne Slott remained true to his principles after Liverpool’s loss to Manchester United on Sunday, with the Dutchman continuing to portray the level-headed persona we have become accustomed to.
Arne Slott continued to look calm and relaxed in Liverpool’s dressing room on Sunday despite suffering four straight defeats, the club’s worst result since 2014.
The Dutchman was not used to losing games during his debut season, but saw the Reds lose their place at the top of the table after losing three Premier League games and one in the Champions League. It was the first time in over a year that his team lost a league game at Anfield.
But the Daily Mail’s allegation slot continued to portray a calm demeanor in his home dressing room, rather than abuse or frenzy. He is not unaware of the pressure to get back to winning ways, on top of the constant questions arising from the summer’s huge spending.
His success in the Premier League means he has no qualms about his job and the former Feyenoord manager continues to stick to the principles that have served him well, even as he faces the biggest challenge of his tenure at Liverpool so far.
Slott has previously drawn inspiration from Lance Armstrong’s attitude, which he instilled in his players. The American was used to demoralizing his rivals when things were not going well. Slott kept smiling through Sunday’s aftermath as he smiled for the cameras and powered his way up the Alps.

Even during his international break, when he headed to Dubai to soak up the sun, the Liverpool manager was thought to have spent much of his trip mulling over the key issues at hand. He was studying a number of clips on his laptop to prevent slippage.
Slott, who reads Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf in the morning and listens to talkSPORT on his commute to work, remains largely unaffected by negative media noise, despite clearly being aware of the narrative surrounding him and his team.
Slott chose to live outside the city of Liverpool. That was the main motivation, allowing me to live a quiet life away from the majority opinion. He claims he has been dealing with challenges since his arrival – first winning games, then dealing with comparisons with Jurgen Klopp, and now stopping this losing streak.
“I think as a manager you always face challenges. When I first started as a manager, you faced the challenge of being a new manager and then you have to win games and if you do well you go to a bigger club and people are like ‘Oh, let’s see how he does over there’.” Then you become Jurgen Klopp’s successor and people say this is the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced.
“Right now we’ve lost four games in a row, but that’s a challenge too. So the life of a football manager is a continuous challenge. If you win a game, you want to keep winning, and if you lose a game, you want to start winning again.”
