Failure to sign Guehi could cost Liverpool the title – McCoist

Ally McCoist and Darren Fletcher return from international break with fresh energy and a new expected round of the Premier League as Nottingham Forest host Chelsea and Liverpool take on Manchester United.

Pressure is mounting on Ange Postecoglou, who is still unbeaten despite having only been in charge for seven games.

Forest fan Fletch believes Australia’s championship run could be over if his team can’t beat the Blues at the City Ground on Saturday lunchtime, which will be broadcast live on TNT Sports and Discovery Plus.

And on Sunday, Liverpool and United will clash at Anfield. United’s difficult start has been well documented, but a win would move them within two points of Arne Slott’s stuttering champions.

Elsewhere, leaders Arsenal visit Fulham, Manchester City host Everton and Tottenham Hotspur face Aston Villa.

In the last game, Alli and Fletch both bagged a massive 16 points thanks to Spurs’ 2-1 win over Leeds United on TNT Sports, giving them a deserved double of points.

Selected matches:

Nottingham Forest v Chelsea (TNT Sports)

Ally: “We’re getting close to the stage where Ange needs to get the three points, but I don’t know if this game will help him get that done. In fact, I’m going to sneak a win away against Chelsea.”

“Oddly enough, I think Chelsea will be perfectly fine against the big teams, but the mid-table teams will be a real test for Chelsea. The level of performance against Liverpool was great.”

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Chelsea

Fletch: “This may be the head controlling the heart, but I don’t see this trend continuing. Postecoglou must emerge victorious.

“If he doesn’t win this weekend he’ll probably be sacked. He’s had a little bit of time to think about it during the international break and Chelsea have one or two injuries and Forest are at home… they have to win in the end.”

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Chelsea

Liverpool v Manchester United

Alli: “Liverpool are an interesting team. They’ve lost their last three games, going from scoring late goals to conceding goals in the second half. But I think they’ll give United enough points at home.

“There was certainly an improvement from United, but I don’t know if it’s enough to see off a Liverpool team that can’t beat anyone on the day.”

Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Manchester United

Fletch: “These games are often more tense than the form suggests. I know Liverpool have had a couple of dominant wins against United recently, but history shows that things like that don’t happen all that often.”

“Man United are starting to show a bit more signs of improvement, but Liverpool are not there yet. It brings the team even closer together. I think Liverpool will win and be the dominant team, but I think United will score.”

Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Manchester United
