Ola Aina believes Callum Hudson-Odoi is one of Nottingham Forest’s most dangerous players ahead of their Premier League clash with Chelsea.
Ange Postecoglou continues his quest for his first win as Forest manager ahead of Saturday’s match at the City Ground, which will be broadcast live on TNT Sports and Discovery Plus.

Postecoglou’s side currently sit 17th in the Premier League, having lost four of their last five top-flight games.

Forest defender Aina insists Hudson-Odoi is a key player. Aina said this while visiting a Nottingham Forest Trust Premier League Kicks session. “Yeah, there’s a bit of a bromance between me and Calum. That’s my partner.”

“He is important for us and one of the most dangerous players in the team.

“He brings a lot of energy, excitement and variety to our team and our play. He’s really important to us.”

Aina and Hudson-Odoi played key roles in Forest’s successful 2024/2025 season, helping the club finish in seventh place under manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

However, Aina has yet to feature in Forest’s UEFA Europa League campaign after sustaining a hamstring injury during international duty.

Aina is now looking forward to making her debut in UEFA competitions as the season progresses.

“I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch (once my fitness is back),” he said.

“I’ve never played in Europe in my career and I’m looking forward to it. The goal is just to do as well as possible.

“It’s been a long time since the club was in Europe, so it’s important to do as much as we can and enjoy ourselves.

“Opportunities like this don’t come along all the time in your career, so it’s important to enjoy them.”

Saturday’s match against Chelsea will be dedicated to the Premier League’s ‘No Room for Racism’ campaign.

Aina and Hudson-Odoi attended a Premier League Kicks event in Nottingham as part of the campaign.

They met young people aged between eight and 16 during this session and handed out tickets for Forest’s Europa League match against Porto next week.

Aina admits it’s always great to see young people have a place to play soccer.

“It was really nice to see,” he added. “It’s great to have a place where young people can play football like this.

“It’s great to see them having fun and laughing with each other, both those who were already friends and those who have become friends here.”
