Marcus Rashford has improved steadily since joining Barcelona and has spoken of his desire to always be at his best after leaving Manchester United on loan.
Marcus Rashford has blamed an “inconsistent environment” for his failure to maintain his best form in recent seasons. The forward admits he needs to improve his reliability, but suggested Manchester United’s environment does not provide the best platform to perform at the peak of his powers.
Rashford, 27, joined Barcelona on loan at the start of this season and has improved since settling in at the Catalan club. Barça were hesitant to sign the England international but now appear to be happy to activate the permanent option in his contract.
United’s academy product leads La Liga teams in goal contributions. The attacker has scored three goals and provided five assists in his last seven games for Barcelona.
The forward is going through a difficult period of form. After falling out of United’s first-team plans following the arrival of Ruben Amorim, Rashford moved on loan to Aston Villa and became part of United’s ‘bomb squad’ while his team-mates went on a pre-season tour this summer.
Rashford has worked under eight different managers at United since making his debut under Louis van Gaal in 2016. During this period, the Red Devils achieved success in the Europa League and FA Cup, but were unable to achieve the success they achieved under Sir Alex Ferguson.

And Rashford wants to bring some consistency to his life and training methods to find his best form again. “Consistency is a big part of it,” he told ITV.
“I feel like I’ve been in an inconsistent environment for a very long time, so it’s even harder to be consistent.
“Consistency is something I need to bring to my game. That’s what I strive for and I want to be at my best as often as possible, not just once in a while.”
“When people talk about consistency, to be consistent in anything, not just sports, you need consistent variables in your life and the way you train, and there have been so many changes in my career so far.
“I have to move forward. That’s definitely one thing I want to correct and improve and be at my best more often. When you’re at your best, you really enjoy everything about the sport. So it’s special for me to be there.”
Rashford hopes his form will earn him a bigger role for England at next summer’s World Cup under manager Thomas Tuchel. The forward is looking to join Germany’s line-up against Latvia on Tuesday.
