Everton have offered a contract extension and Jordan Pickford will be next in line to sign a new contract as manager David Moyes and the Friedkin Group look to build a team with the future.
Jordan Pickford is set to sign a new contract at Everton, completing the third contract extension in the Toffees’ defense. Pickford, 31, has been one of Everton’s star performers this season and is the club’s second longest-serving player.
The goalkeeper joined Everton from Sunderland in 2017 for £30m and made his 300th appearance for the club in their recent 2-1 home win against Crystal Palace. Pickford’s performances have helped Everton maintain their Premier League status, with David Moyes and the club’s owners now looking to steer the club away from a constant relegation battle.
Moyes and the Friedkin Group have made the 31-year-old’s long-term future a priority, with The Times reporting that he is on the verge of signing a new four-year contract. His extension will follow centre-back duo James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite as the new hierarchy at Hill Dickinson Stadium looks to keep the team together.
Additionally, Everton are considering offering new contracts to both James Garner and Vitaly Mykolenko, whose current contracts expire at the end of this season. Meanwhile, Pickford is already tied down until 2027.
The former Sunderland starlet broke England’s record in a 3-0 win over Wales at Wembley last Thursday. Pickford became the first Three Lions goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet in eight consecutive games, breaking the record shared by him and the legendary Gordon Banks.

Pickford has not conceded a goal in an international match since October 2024. He will get the chance to help England qualify for next summer’s World Cup directly during his visit to Latvia on Tuesday, his 80th cap.
After Pickford’s record-breaking performance against Wales, England manager Thomas Tuchel praised: “It’s not easy to maintain concentration in such a dominant first half. I think you basically have nothing to do and then suddenly in the 42nd minute you’re in a situation that can always be dangerous.”

“And in the second half he made a very difficult save where he closed his legs quickly. He’s a great shot-stopper, there’s no doubt about that. It was a challenge for him today because they pressed us from high up and we want to get away from the press.”
“We want to have a chance to escape the press, not only with his long shots, but also with his short passes. So he did very well. He stayed calm. He stayed calm. That’s basically what we want him to do. He stayed calm, he stayed focused.”
Tuchel also praised Pickford’s ability to respond to tactical demands. “It’s always like a team effort and I think he’s willing to share that at least with the defenders in front of him,” the German added.
“But we took a defensive approach to minimize saves from him, but he’s performed well. Well done, congratulations. It’s a great achievement.”
