“He’s an exceptional talent and I think he’s very committed to the club.
“It wouldn’t be surprising if Manchester United wanted Adam Wharton.
“The truth is, he has a long contract left.”
Wharton has played 10 games in all competitions for Palace this season and has been a big reason why they have achieved a club-record 19 games unbeaten.
Oliver Glasner’s side return to Premier League action on Saturday when they take on high-scoring Bournemouth at Selhurst Park.
Palace have a chance to leapfrog their rivals in the table, but only if they recover from their first defeat of the season and secure all three points.
Wharton is just the latest name in a long list of players linked with a move away from Selhurst Park.
Palace boss Glasner is also thought to have many fans, with his contract set to expire at the end of this season.
The Austrian’s status as a club legend has already been cemented by his side’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
However, Parrish said a new deal could be agreed and that “early discussions” were already underway.
“We had some discussions in the early stages,” he added.
“We want to keep Oliver.
“We’re building something.
“I think the important thing for Oliver is that the conditions are right.
“It’s all about making sure he enjoys his job, and he’s finding favorable conditions to achieve that.
“Oliver wants to win things.
“If we can align those interests, we hope we can make something happen.”
