Barcelona have the option to sign Marcus Rashford on a permanent deal for £26 million after his season-long loan ends, and the player has already made his feelings clear about the move.
Marcus Rashford has his heart set on Barcelona despite being bounced around by other big clubs. England star Rashford is on a season-long loan move from Manchester United to Barcelona, with the Spanish giants having the option to make the move permanent for £26m next summer.
Rashford’s performances and form at Barcelona have attracted the attention of other European clubs, even Paris Saint-Germain following their Champions League encounter. But Rashford is focused on playing well enough to secure a permanent move to Barcelona next summer, as it was his dream to play for the Catalan club when he left Old Trafford.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has publicly praised Rashford, and the 27-year-old also impressed England manager Thomas Tuchel during his international duty. The United loanee came on midway through the second half in Thursday’s 3-0 win over Wales.
Rashford is hoping to depart on Tuesday’s trip to Latvia, which could see England qualify for the World Cup if the result is positive. He has been in great form since the last international break, scoring in the 5-0 win against Serbia.
In his last eight games for club and country, Rashford has contributed four goals and four assists. His latest goal came as the La Liga champions relinquished their lead as Barça suffered a shock 4-1 defeat away to Sevilla.

Flick praised Rashford’s performance in helping Barcelona beat Newcastle 2-1 in the Champions League at St James’ Park last month, scoring twice. “I’m not surprised (by his goal),” Flick said after the match. “I think he’s a great player. His skills are unbelievable and his finishing is unbelievable.
“I think we tried to create chances in the first half, but we couldn’t convert them. That’s what happened in the second half. It’s always good for a striker to score, so I’m really happy.”

“He’s an important player. When we talked about what the team needed before the season, we felt we needed a player like him. When we had this chance (to sign him), we said we had to do it. He’s an outstanding player.”
Rashford has recently indicated publicly that he is keen to move permanently to Catalonia. “I want to stay as many (seasons) as possible. Let’s see,” he told TNT Sports. “I have to focus on doing my job and helping the team in any way I can.”
Rashford added: “I’m learning a lot. It’s a new style of football. But it’s made me a better player. It’s been a great experience, to be honest. I’ve always been a big Barcelona fan and all the players my age have watched them play. It’s great football.”
Barça sporting director Deco recently told Mundo Deportivo: “There is no penalty clause in the loan contract if we don’t sign him. We have the option to make him a permanent player if we want. It’s too early to talk about a decision for next season. The important thing is that we are happy with him.”
