Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made it clear that head coach Ruben Amorim’s future will not depend on the Glazer family.
Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has insisted the Glazer family will not interfere in any decisions regarding head coach Ruben Amorim’s future. United’s head coach is under increasing pressure after a poor start to the new Premier League season.
The Red Devils have picked up 10 points from their opening seven league games and currently sit 10th in the league. A 2-0 win over Sunderland in their most recent game temporarily put an end to speculation over a managerial appointment, but another period of poor form is expected to reignite the debate.
Ratcliffe would play a pivotal role in determining Amorim’s fate.

Although he admits some supporters are disappointed, the co-owners have indicated they are willing to give the manager extra time.
“Dear members of the press, sometimes I don’t understand,” Ratcliffe told the Business Podcast.
“They want overnight success. They think it’s a light switch.
“You can flip a switch and everything will be different tomorrow. You can’t run a club like Manchester United by reacting instantly to journalists who abuse you every week.”
Mr. Ratcliffe said he had discussed his relationship with his co-owners, the Glazer family, and that they were comfortable giving him control.
Asked what he would do if ordered to remove Mr. Amorim, he simply replied, “I don’t think that would happen.”
Amorim signed a three-year contract with Old Trafford in November last year. Ratcliffe has indicated he is willing to give the club time to reverse its fortunes.
“He hasn’t had the best season,” he said.
“Ruben has three years to prove he’s a great manager and that’s what I have to do.”
United will return to Premier League action after the international break when they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday 19 October (4.30pm kick-off).
