Several famous figures have praised Marcus Rashford’s impressive performances since being loaned to Barcelona FC from Manchester United this summer. He did not do well at Old Trafford last season, leading to a loan spell at Aston Villa in the second half of the campaign. The striker’s future was a hot topic during the summer and Barcelona have finally secured his services.
Rashford flourished in Catalonia, contributing eight goals in the last seven games. The verdict was unanimous, with many football figures and pundits agreeing regarding his impressive form. Gary Reinker, who played for Barcelona during his career, praised Rashford’s start at the club on the latest episode of the Remain IS Football Podcast.
He said: “I’m happy for Marcus (Rashford). I don’t think he could have gotten off to a better start. I mean, they lost this particular game, but it wasn’t his fault.
While discussing Lewandowski’s penalty miss, Lineker added:
“Obviously, Lewandowski was taking them and I always knew he would take it, but I had a feeling and then he hit it big.
“Marcus will advocate a little bit to get that gig, but I don’t think he’ll get it while Lewandowski is there.
Following his switch to La Liga Heavywights, a number of Barcelona players praised Rashford.
After netting twice against Newcastle United in the Champions League, manager Hans Flick commented:
“We’re helping him. But I’m not surprised. He’s, like I said, a good player with great talent. His finishing is great. We need players like him.”
Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo added: “Marcus is spectacular. He does the same thing in training.
Goalkeeper João Garcia said: “It was unbelievable. He’s already used to us in training. He has a very good shot, he’s working hard and I’m very happy for him because he’s working well.”
