Liverpool legend Jamie Carager has criticized the Reds for game management in recent weeks, and even questioned one controversial decision from manager Arne Slot
Jamie Carrager once again denounced Liverpool’s game management, suggesting that Arne Slot made the wrong call to bring about a Wataru end during Saturday’s final 2-1 defeat at Chelsea.
Carragher spoke openly about Liverpool’s all-out offensive style at the start of the campaign, highlighting it when Bournemouth visited Anfield and won the net twice over the opening weekend of the season.
At the time, Carragher was surprised how many rooms Antoine Semeño was given to her second strike, charging almost the entire length of the field before finding the net, describing the defense as “shocking.”

Liverpool continues to claim victory on each of the six fixtures across all competitions, but these displays are not impressed, and the results are over and the Reds lose their final three encounters.
They traveled to Crystal Palace and endured a stop time 2-1 reverse before heading to Galatasaray in the Champions League and fell 1-0. They then traveled to Chelsea and lost 2-1 in a closely fought contest.
Discussing Liverpool’s rough patch on overlap fans’ debates, Karager has identified the one that has most frustrated him with his recent fixture – a choice to replace Wataru end against Chelsea – resulting in the Reds shipping a 95-minute winner at Stamford Bridge.
Carragher said: “What frustrated me in the last two games was that I allowed an end-to-end situation. When I was playing the game, Liverpool played Crystal Palace, and Liverpool is better than Crystal Palace and is my favorite to win the game.”
“But you were abused in the first half, it’s 1-1 and they’re incredible runs, I’m like ‘getting out of there at the point’. It’s slightly different from Chelsea. The team that won the title didn’t control the game, especially with issues that Chelsea had.
“Even when he brought the end, it tells you to take the points, but no one came back to defend and didn’t feel like people were running end-to-end. That’s what’s frustrating me.
“I don’t understand the champions and that experience, the senior players and the teams they’ve won, especially when you play it badly. Liverpool is the top of the league with two points. Losing the game happens, but that’s a two-week run.”
Meanwhile, Slot was faced with questions about his decision to introduce an end at a post-match press conference.
Japan International replaced the Alexis Mac Allister in the 86th minute. “If you look at the alternatives we made, if you think we need a little more control, we brought in the end (on) we normally have,” Slot explained to Bein Sports.
“The last 10-15 minutes were very open and we were still able to create, but as Rien Grain Belch was already playing as centre-back, it definitely needed control. I don’t think the alternative was too defensive.
