Secret Raya deals appear
A new lucrative deal has been revealed for David Raya, who agreed to the summer. Although the contract period remains the same, he was awarded a significant salary increase in the closed season as a recognition of some impressive seasons with the Emirates.
He initially made his move permanent after joining from Brentford on a season-long loan in 2023, then seeing Aaron Ramsdale, who now departed as his first option. There is no official announcement from the club and is not expected given that the duration of his original contract has not been changed.
Gunners Eye Wembley’s Movement
Arsenal could temporarily move to Wembley if plans to expand Emirates Stadium are approved. Demand for tickets is currently outweighing supply, with around 100,000 fans on the waiting list for season tickets.
The Gunners’ home ground currently houses 60,700 people, ranks as the fifth largest club stadium in the country and behind London’s third largest club stadiums, Tottenham and West Ham.
The proposed expansion will improve the capabilities of around 70,000, making it the second largest stadium in the country, with Manchester United’s Old Trafford alone.
However, the railroad lines surrounding the stadium make outward expansion not feasible. Instead, the club plans to soak the stands to accommodate thousands of additional seats.
The complex task, which is estimated to cost around £500 million, requires Wembley to be assigned as a temporary base, and a temporary relocation for the gunners, as Tottenham did when the stadium was built.
Summer signatures have an exit plan
Summer has already planned his next move, signing Christian Norgaard, who joined Arsenal from Brentford as a direct replacement for Thomas Party on a two-year deal.
Norgaard, who has not been linked to lack of game time, saw the end of his playing career, revealed that it was not with the gunners. He told the Danish title Bold:
Norgaard, who has made two appearances this season, has played over 100 games between 2013 and 2018 before continuing to move to Fiorentina and Brentford.
