Alexander Isaac has recovered from a long time after managing the controversial exit from Newcastle United and Liverpool’s careful actions.
Swedish manager John Dahl Thomason subtly criticised Newcastle United while Liverpool praised Alexander Isaac’s management. The forward moved a record £155 million £115 million to the Reds at transfer deadline after effectively struggling at St James Park to secure his departure.
Isaac spent most of his time training solo as he didn’t play a singles match for Newcastle before the season. As a result, he had not taken action for nearly four months before returning to the Swedish pitch during the international break in September.
The striker remained on the bench in the World Cup qualifying against Slovenia in Sweden, but was brought in only the 72nd minute of a 2-0 defeat in Kosovo. He has since gone six outings for Liverpool – starting four times, but as the Reds manage their game time carefully, Isak scored 312 minutes, contributing to one goal and one assist.

After Liverpool’s defeat to Chelsea, Isaac confessed that he was still working back to full fitness after a summer turmoil. However, he is expected to see more action during the international break in October, with the Swedish team being selected to face Switzerland and Kosovo in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Thomason confessed that it remains unclear whether Isaac will be able to complete the 90-minute full completion for Sweden, but he claims that since his previous call, the striker has shown improvements in encouragement. “To be honest, I don’t know because he hasn’t played 90 minutes yet,” he explained.
“But one thing I know is that he looks better than he was a month ago. This is normal. He made a great assist this weekend (against Chelsea).
“I don’t know if that’s a long way (until he gets back to his best), but we’re getting close because we need six weeks in the preseason. We’ll play 45 minutes first, then 60 minutes, then 75 minutes, 75 minutes, 90 minutes.
“Then it takes another three weeks to get to the best of it, which is normal.
“Whether it’s going to be 90 minutes depends on the game, so we can’t give you a good answer about it. You need to look at the players individually and get data from the club about what the players can do physically and whether they can play 90 minutes twice.
“He has his own preseason and plays a competitive game. It’s a difficult way to get healthy, but they handled it well.
“I think he did very well. It’s normal for you to take time to interact with your new teammates when you come to a new club.
“He’s doing preseason in competitive games, and I think he and Liverpool handled that very well. Looking at how he plays, he’s the best in the way he moves – I still think he’s very good.”
Meanwhile, Thomason also took a swipe at Newcastle, where he featured as a player in his career, highlighting how his contrasting approach with Yorn Wissa opposes spectacularly. Dr. Congo’s Dr. Striker moved to Magpies on the deadline from Brentford with a £55 million switch.
However, the 29-year-old has not yet featured his new side of his face after maintaining knee issues during the international windows in September, and does not expect him to return until November. “We can’t change the situation (at ISAK),” Thomason concluded.
“I am happy that Liverpool is doing the same thing I did, and you can see what Newcastle did with Joane Wissa, who took the place of Isaac.
“He played an international match against Congo right away and is now injured, he is still injured.
“That’s also why we didn’t play him much last month. We need a good ISAK this month and next month. That’s our plan, but Liverpool is doing really well.”
