Pat Nevin tells Jack Grealish to keep impressing Everton – so he can fly to the World Cup with Thomas Tuchel’s England squad
Jack Grealish has been told to turn his back on Pep Guardiola. That’s because it denies England a possible chance to be involved in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad.
That’s the view of former Everton and Chelsea star Pat Nevin. He believes Greil made a mistake in returning to Manchester City once his loan deal with the Toffees ends in June.
Grealish was a revelation for David Moyes’ men, scoring a last-gasp winner to help sink high-flying Crystal Palace last weekend. And Nevin told Betright that Greash should look to make the move to Everton permanent.

Nevin said: “I would be delighted if Thomas Tuchel selected Jack Grealish for the World Cup. “In Jack’s position, I would make the most of my chances of being selected for the national team by staying at Everton.
“He has guaranteed game time, is given creative freedom and is not beholden to the other star players in the side.
“He can thrive in David Moye’s team and I think that puts him in a good position to be selected for England.
“Sometimes moves to big clubs don’t work out and it doesn’t work out for everyone. I think it’s not because he lacks skill or ability, which is what happened with Jack.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Grealish gets called up for the World Cup, but he’s playing in the toughest position to get selected for England.
“Behind the strikers we have about nine players queued up who can play throughout the attack.
“It will be difficult for him to put his name up on the team sheet, but he is far more likely to do it at Everton than Manchester City.
