Liverpool recently lost three consecutive matches in the Premier League and Champions League, choosing the question Paul Shoals saw with Talisman Mohamed Sarah.
Paul Shoals believes Mohamed Sarah has “made the wrong decision” for Liverpool as the Reds hit a rough patch. Arne Slot managed to lead the Reds to a Premier League title last season, but his team shows a major weakness this semester.
At the time of writing, Liverpool is currently sitting second in the league standings. This is behind Arsenal after seven games. However, they were unable to secure a victory on their final two excursions on the English top flights – they also suffered a loss in the interim Champions League.
The Anfield side fell to Galatasaray in a 1-0 defeat last weekend at Selhurst Park and fell to Galatasaray on Tuesday. Liverpool also returned from Stanford Bridge on Saturday without a point to show for their efforts after a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.

And while many supporters and critics alike choose leaky defense issues, like unstained displays like Milos Kerquez and Ibrahima Conate, as well as Florian Wiltz, who struggles to find his footing on top English flights, Shoals called out Sarah for the part he played.
The former Manchester United midfielder spoke with Nikki Batt and Paddy McGuinness about Good, Bad, Bad and football, saying, “He’s still playing in the same position, but he seems to have made the wrong decision.
“If you remember last year, he scored a lot of goals, but he got a lot of time from the right, right on the left foot, and he’s playing a great ball to people just to tap.
“We had a few instances on Saturday. He cuts inside. He’s inflated the ball on the bar.”
Batt added: “They go to the top corner last year too, and I think he’s hitting that top corner when he gets into that left foot.
Sarah proved to be one of Liverpool’s most valuable assets last season, with 29 goals and 16 assists in the Premier League alone. And although he has already scored two points and has set another two in the league this semester, Scholes and Butt believe he doesn’t show the same consistency.
Elsewhere, Wayne Rooney also questioned Sarah’s work ethic – swipes the Egyptian forward in the wake of his defeat to Chelsea. He states:
“The top players have ego and Mo Salah has been one of the best players in the league for a long time. I think last week when that worked out, you showed you scored a goal and you’re winning the game.
“I know he’s not always going back and defending, but in Chelsea’s game, his fullback is torn apart. He’s watching (there’s there). Players like Virgil) Van Dik and Alysson, I wasn’t playing, but the dressing room leader should be telling him.
“For me, that was bothering me, and he seemed a bit lost last week.
Slots and Liverpool are now playing against Manchester United in the Northwest Derby, taking a two-week international break from one or two mistakes before returning to Premier League action on Sunday, October 19th.
