Former Manchester United and Juventus star Paul Pogba are trapped in his Monaco debut, but there are other concerns that League 1 clubs face during a sticky shape patch
Paul Pogba has not yet appeared in the new Club Monaco, but he may not have the opportunity to feature under the manager who brought him to Stade Lewis II. Adi Hutter’s job is at risk despite securing Champions League qualifiers.
Austrian coach Hatter began the season with four wins in a league of five, and was moved by a new signature from Pogba, Ansu Fati. However, things got worse as a game without a victory in Rig 1 followed by a 4-1 defeat in the Champions League at Club Bruges.
According to L’Equipe (via GFFN), Monaco is currently squeezing alternatives to head coach positions. Former Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic is one of the linked people who left the Bundesliga side after running to the 2024 Champions League final.
After losing to Lorient at the end of September, Hutter’s team saved a late point against Manchester City in the weekly European clash. However, they were unable to respond with a league victory. After the visitors left Aribdi, they were drawing Nice at home despite playing with the extra man almost an hour later.
“We couldn’t find a suitable solution to find our ultimate goal,” Hutter told reporters after Sunday’s 2-2 draw. “At this point we’re not 100% satisfied (…), we’re not 100% happy. When players come back, we’ll be better.”

Pogba is one of the players who are close to returning home. French International joined Monaco in the summer after serving a ban on doping, but its suspension fell on appeal, but is not yet in full match fitness two years after the game.
He can compete when his team returns to action after an international break in a league match against Anderes on the horizon. If he fails, his long break could end against Tottenham in the Champions League.
“He’s doing more and more on the team,” Hatter said of Pogba before a nice clash. “Our goal was for him to be on the team for Nice, but that’s a little too early. Against Anderers, I hope he can be part of the team. I think he’s ready to face Angers…
“The way to increase the load (by playing him) in matches is a 15/20 minute (by playing him) against Angers,” the manager added. “He’s already in the dressing room, even if he’s not wearing a shirt.
