Arsenal has confirmed that Norway’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Israel and New Zealand will be missed after injuries to the medial collateral ligament (MCL).
“Martin will continue to be evaluated and treated by the medical team at Soba Realty Training Center during the international window, with the aim of returning to action as soon as possible.”
Declan Rice was replaced in the 79th minute due to back issues but reports England’s obligations as expected.
The club has not yet provided an update on Rice, but Odegard joins the bystanders of Gabriel Jesus, Kaihabaats, Noni Madueke and Piero Hincapie.
A timeline for the return of the midfielder is not provided, but it is the latest setback, which was already an annoying start to the season.
Odegaard came out early against both Leeds United and Nottingham Forest due to shoulder issues.
He was able to play the entire mid-week match between Olympiacos and Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League, but a knee-to-knee-to-knee collision with Hammer left him early for West Ham.

After the game, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was providing the latest updates on the skipper, so it was a downbeat.
“I haven’t kept him for any reason since the start of the season. I’ve had him twice in my shoulder and this injury.
“We have to wait for the extent of the injury and we have to find a solution, but obviously he is our captain, especially the player who gives us a completely different dimension to what we can do with an offense.”
The injury took part in the derailment of Arsenal’s title challenge last season, with only seven games in the new campaign.
Losing players like Bukayo Saka, Habatutu, Jesus, and Gabriel Martinelli puts pressure on the rest of the troop.
Impressed since signing from Crystal Palace, Ebelech Eze also strengthened the depth of the flank of attacks to the flank.
