Arne Slot and Liverpool welcome an international break with open arms. Saturday’s loss at Stamford Bridge was the third loss the Reds lost, and questions began to be asked to the defending Premier League champions.
The cynician might say it’s coming. Even when they were late in the season, their performance would be flattering to deceive, and the proposal slot and Liverpool luck would eventually run out. It appears they notice that there are a few record champions.
However, as the teenage Sensation Estevao was twisting a dagger on Liverpool’s back on Stanford Bridge, about 600 miles away, the former Liverpool star was rubbing salt into the wounds of the slot. It came during Bayern Munich’s 3-0 victory over Entracht Frankfurt. There, Luis Diaz took part in all three Bundesliga Giants goals.
The Colombians only took a minute to make an impact. Diaz netted the early door to the opening goal. Before the break, Diaz had registered another goal contribution by laying the ball on Harry Kane.
Dias played in six minutes with a third of Bayern adding to the team’s Bayern final, leading the season’s complete tally to a whopping six goals and four assists in all competitions, so he didn’t finish there. It’s safe to say that Diaz hits the ground running in Munich.
Alexander Isaac has yet to score goals in the Premier League or Champions League, but Florian Wiltz’s only goal contribution of all sorts came to the Community Shield against Crystal Palace. Both players cost over £100 million, flattering the deceiving so far.
Liverpool deposited £65.5 million in the bank for Diaz’s signature, and the general consensus at the time was that Bayern was potentially overpaying. But Isak and Wirtz have ages on their side, but it was certainly clear that even at this early age of the season, Diaz would lose the guaranteed threat.
The 28-year-old found a net back 17 times in all competitions last season. So, as long as the Liverpool attackers huff and breathe in the big match, it would stab a little more as long as they watch Diaz light it up on his new side of Germany.
