Manchester United host Sunderland will host Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
It appears that six key players are missing between them when Manchester United and Sunderland lock the corner at Old Trafford. The plagued United manager, Reuben Amorim, desperately needs a victory over the newly promoted Black Cat.
Meanwhile, Regis Le Bliss’s side is enjoying an impressive return to the Premier League. Many have turned them upside down for relegation, but they are now in Champions League football battles, although it is still in the early days.
United were defeated 3-1 to Brentford at the G-Tech Community Stadium last weekend, with Sunderland secured a key 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest at City Ground. Now, United sits just three points above the drop zone despite spending over £200 million players during their summer transfer period.

Sunderland hasn’t won at Old Trafford since May 2014, when Sebastian Larson scored a decisive strike in a penultimate two-day victory of the season, but you may feel a chance. However, Sunderland has received encouraging news before fixtures.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Le Bliss revealed that Nordi Mukiere is in a perfect fit and ready to compete against United. The French boss said: “Nordie is fine, he is fine. We have no new injuries.”
Le Bris added:
“Leo (Hjelde) and Aji (Alese) are similar. Leo has returned to running. He has had a very minor injury along with horse mackerel, so he has retreated a bit. It’s probably a month each.”
Looking forward to stepping into Old Trafford, Le Bliss added:
“They are strong, create many opportunities from anywhere, play directly behind them, create sets with talented players. Now it’s a matter of clicks, confidence, situations, scenarios.
“So, for us, what we have control over is how we play, how we want to play this game, how we face this challenge and realize it’s difficult.”
However, it is expected that United will be missing two key players, Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez. Discussing team news before last week’s Brentford fixture, Amorim revealed that World Cup winner Martinez will be coming up after the upcoming international break.
The latter continues to recover from anterior cruciate ligament problems that we picked up in February. Martinez recently launched a partial training session in Carrington. He is working towards his comeback at the end of the year.
However, Amorim has made Casemiro available again after the midfielder sat in West London’s Rivers last week through a halt, and there is Amado who was given a caring vacation after the death of his family. Daniel Armour may also take part in training for his first team on Wednesday and earn a squad location.
