Manchester United legends are criticising Reuben Amorim this week after the Red Devils lost 3-1 to Brentford.
Reuben Amorim began his intense defense of his highly exploited system after being criticised by many well-known former Manchester United players. The Amorim team has lost four of their seven games in all competitions this season, with the Red Devils in 14th place in the Premier League Table and the Carabao Cup.
United’s struggle has put pressure on Amorim’s position, and many believe he will be fired if he loses at home to the newly promoted Sunderland on Saturday. Wayne Rooney, the club’s top goalscorer, admits he “has no faith” in Amorim to get things to go. Former captain Gary Neville is “concerned.”
Amorim is fine with criticism from club legends, but he disagrees that his system is a problem. “That’s normal, we can’t get away from the outcome, and you’ve got your baggage since last season,” the Red Devils boss told reporters at a pre-game press conference.

“Last season wasn’t an issue for me. It’s related to the system we’ve already talked about about it. We’ve had six games this season and we’ve lost three.
“It’s your job to express your opinion. When you saw a game with the city of Games (Manchester) and when the game started, was it the first thought you thought the system was a system? I don’t think you thought of the system at that moment.
“The way we acknowledge our goals and create opportunities, it has nothing to do with the system. That’s my opinion. I’m not saying that this team will be better in another system. That’s not my point.

“My point is, when you look at the games we didn’t win, it’s the most important thing when you see the games that weren’t lost because of the system.
Amorim was then asked if United players understood how to play his system. “That’s not something that (apart from Brentford) but working one weekend doesn’t work,” the 40-year-old insisted.
“One day, when things work and others don’t work. It’s something about the way we do the same thing. We need to do the same thing. We don’t do the same thing every day, in all ways.
