Eric Ten Hag endured the bruises 12 months after being fired by Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen, but he was able to quickly offer the opportunity to kickstart his career in a familiar environment.
Erik Ten Hag is being promoted for his emotional return to Ajax – just weeks after the former Manchester United manager was fired by Bayer Leverkusen after the first two matches of the new Bundesliga season.
Ten Hag is a former German champion who selected Dutchman as the successor to Xabi Alonso, and lasted less than four months overall. However, he was unable to win one of his two league games at the helm, before he could confirm that the club was released from his duties. Ten Hag later decided to blow up the film in a strong statement of words, “unprecedented.”
The 55-year-old has had a big hint in the last 12 months, followed by a quick exit at Leverkusen from the looting at Manchester United last October. However, his struggle in the Premier League and Germany appears to have the potential to harm Ajax. DeTelegraaf says such a move could be in January.

The former Ten Hag club is currently managed by John Heitinga. John Haitita came in third in Eredivisy and has yet to lose in seven league games this season. However, Ajax lost both games in the Champions League with Inter Milan and Marseille, with some fans already asking for changes.
Ajax’s top brass is currently reluctant to act, but with some overwhelming performances increasing fan anxiety, it looks like an option for 10 HAGs to intervene.
It should be noted that 10 HAG will be open to managing AJAX again after leaving the club to join Manchester United almost three and a half years ago. Interestingly, he was able to take the offer from Leverkusen earlier this year as the club was looking for a new head coach after being so badly linked to his return to Amsterdam.
Alex Crows, the club’s technical director, confirmed in May that he was interested in 10 hugs, saying, “Eric Tenhug was on the list for a long time. He’s well known and did a great job when he was here.
“I told him briefly on Sunday. He was in the arena as an audience.”
Ten Hag enjoyed a four-year spell that was a huge success with Ajax, winning three league titles and two domestic cups before winning the Manchester United job. He also went deep into the Champions League in 2019, reaching the semi-finals before Ajax succumbing to Tottenham on two legs.
