Enzo Maresca told Chelsea boss to “settle and relax” as he angers Liverpool | Football | Sports

Anthony Taylor couldn’t understand Enzo Maresca’s rage at the touchline, Gary Neville said Alejandro Garnacho was right not to penalize Chelsea against Liverpool after being under pressure from Dominique Scizoboschlei. The blues winger appeared to be throwing it on the grass after feeling contact from the Reds midfielder. The incident was considered not serious enough to guarantee a spot kick.

Chelsea manager Maresca received a yellow card for his complaints after both the referee and Val determined that the contact was insufficient to award the penalty. And former Manchester United defender Neville believed the Italian boss’ objection was unfair.

In his commentary on Sky Sports, Neville states:

“I know sometimes they’re wrong, but he (Malesca) just needs to calm down and relax. I don’t know who’s telling him it’s a penalty.”

The Premier League outlined its stance on the match center account, saying:

Former Chelsea star Pat Nevin thinks it would be tough to fine Liverpool.

But if it was given, he doesn’t think it would have been a comeback. Nevin commented: “I didn’t think it was close to a penalty kick from afar, and when I saw it again with replays and slow motion, surprises, surprises, I was thrust into Garnacho’s back a bit.

“If he hadn’t given it for the first time, they wouldn’t have changed it. That seemed tough to give a penalty kick for that.”

Chelsea were able to secure a one-goal lead at halftime thanks to a spectacular strike from Moises Caseko. However, Cody Gakupo brought Liverpool levels in 63 minutes from close range.
