Manchester City’s Champions League bond with Monaco ended in chaos after the League One Giants were awarded a late, controversial penalty. Pep Guardiola’s side was a few separate from sealing off three important points on the road, but the referee was told by the VAR to look at the monitor for a penalty check.
Visitors were commanded by Erling Haaland Brace, both sides of the incredible effort from the edge of Jordan Teze’s box. But for a moment, Monaco defender Eric Dear lifted his head at the end of the free kick. This was saved by Gianluigi Donnaruma, but the high foot from Nico Gonzalez caught Val’s attention.
The judge was told to pause the action and look at the monitor. This means that decisions will often be overturned in the Premier League, but in Europe officials are more likely to stick to the original phone.
However, chaos continued after Donnaruma stole the ball to prevent Monaco from setting a penalty, and he was dragged out.
A big brawl between both sets of players erupted, with the red cards swept by members of the Monaco coaching staff, but the referee had not yet confirmed the penalty or still reached the monitor.

Bernardo Silva was also reserved for a role in the fight, but Donnaruma took the ball to the dugout from inside his penalty box and refused to return it.
In the end, the judge was able to calm both sides down and gave Monaco a penalty.
Former England star Deer stepped up and put the ball in the lower right corner, and there was little chance for the Italian goalkeeper to prevent what the city felt was an unfair equalizer.
They were given another seven minutes to get the lead again, and they got a free kick in a cross-promising position as Phil Foden and Tijani Reyjner deliberate who should take it.
However, their conversation was barely important as Ball was plagued by Monaco’s defense and Haaland waved his arm in frustration that Ball didn’t go near him.
Guardiola tried to encourage the attack with the touchline and to encourage a very slow winner, but his efforts went to waste and Monaco saw the draw.
