Reuben Amorim wanted Benjamin Sesco to be United’s main striker, so he decided to lend Rasmus Hojlund to Naples and send him, but De Bruin was impressed with Hojlund.

Manchester City legend De Bruyne, who set both goals for Hojlund, praised the forward in a post-match interview with UEFA, saying, “Rasmus has a lot of quality and when you move forward you need a smell of goal as a striker. It’s really important to him and his team.
“It’s a great night for him and will help him get more goals with him,” Manchester Evening News reported.

Speaking to Corriere de Ro Sport, De Bruin added: “I was about to get into that space for my first goal and I was waiting to hand it over to Rasmus, and fortunately he did the rest.
The midfielder was pushed against that comparison and said, “I think it’s very similar because they both like to attack depth. Maybe Hodzilund will start playing the ball towards us, but I think he needs to attack a lot of space because he can score and give us a big hand.”
Hojlund himself states:
“It’s special to play with exceptional talent like Kevin De Bruin. I just need to enter space and he gets me the ball.”
The striker then posted a cheeky message on social media. “Hojlund scored twice in the Champions League as Kevin de Bruyne’s two assists weren’t on my 2025 Bingo card.”
United jumped £72 million to introduce Hozilund from Atalanta in the summer of 2023. He managed four Premier League strikes in the previous period, despite 16 promising forwards in all competitions earning the net 16 times during his debut campaign.
Amorim has failed to include Hozilund in any match-day team this season, and has set out for Napoli at the transfer deadline. Napoli manager Antonio Conte swooped for Hozilund after being injured by former unified frontman Romell Lukaku.
