The ugly scene changed in Naples before the Naples Champions League collided with Sports CP on Wednesday night. Both sides were paired in their second match of the league phase this season, but fans from both clubs’ sets cried out in the streets before the action progressed on the pitch.
Social media footage depicts a group of fans throwing missiles, such as glass bottles and chains, at each other on the streets of Naples. The argument took place in what looked like Backstreet in an Italian city, with locals watching from the pavement.
The sirens were finally heard in a social media clip after a few minutes of fights between the supporters. The Naples fans escaped the fireworks in the middle of the night outside the sports hotel, and tension was brewing in front of the fixtures.
The sports team had already endured a confused journey to Italy. Their plane was 4 hours late at Lisbon Airport due to air traffic control issues. As a result, the sport landed only in Naples at 11pm on Tuesday night.

Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport claims that six Napoli supporters have been arrested and sports fans have been taken to hospital, but their condition is not considered serious or life-threatening.
However, it is not the first time that violence has eroded the accumulation of European fixtures in Naples when Naples met Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023. The two clubs were on 16 Championsley grounds, with hundreds of Frankfurt fans caught up in a malicious brawl with local police. A German fan got out of a car that had collided with riot police in the city centre, threw things and crashed.
There have been reports that buses carrying Eintrak fans have been attacked, which sparked an angry response from locals, including Napoli Ultra. The violence came despite German fans being banned from attending matches at Studio Diego Armando Maradona after a string of arrests took place in reverse fixtures.
Back on the pitch, Napoli needed results for the Portuguese outfit and lost the opening match of the league phase against Manchester City. Antonio Conte’s side went into fixtures behind the disappointing Serie loss to AC Milan, while the sport scored the biggest points from the Champions League opener.
The Borges team defeated Champions League beginner Kairat Almaty in the opening night, winning six of six of the league’s seven games. The incumbent Portuguese champion has scored three points from current leader Porto.
