Reuben Amorim expelled five players from Manchester United’s first team in the summer, but the last man was welcomed back in the crease after leaving
Tyrell Malacia was reintegrated into the first team by Reuben Amorim following a dramatic heart change from the Manchester United manager. Malacia was part of a so-called “bomb squad” throughout the summer and was forced to leave the group to drive him out the door.
However, the other members of the group that were exiled, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho all found new clubs, but Malacia stayed. All proposed moves towards Lille, Rome and Elchi fell, but Malacia refused the opportunity to depart for Saudi Arabia.
His contract with United is expected to expire at the end of June, with the 26-year-old fullback remaining at Limbo until the end of the season. After failing to secure an exit before the September 1 deadline, Malacia was sent to train under the age of 21, but he also uploaded photos to his social media training solo.
Malacia’s hard work and professionalism were reportedly not noticed behind the scenes at United. Amorim was firmly on unnecessary players, but he changed his mind when Dutch outlet Boetval International reported that Malacia had re-joined his first team training.

The Portuguese boss reportedly gives the Dutch the opportunity to fight a way back on the team. Malacia is the defender on the left, finding herself in the pecking order behind Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorg.
He spent the second half of last season on loan with PSV Eindhoven, where he made 12 appearances in all competitions. However, Malacia has not played for United since January 30th. He defeated Romanian side FCSB 2-0 in the Europa League.
Malacia is registered to play in the Premier League, so if you keep impressing Amorim, you can return to the fold. The fact that the team is struggling makes it possible to play in his hands. United currently ranks 14th in the Premier League and has only won two of their six games.
However, after finishing a 15th place finish in the Europa League final last season, he was unable to compete in the European competition and was knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League 2’s Grimsby, so there will be less equipment for Malacia to target.
Malacia joined United from Feyenoord in the summer of 2022 for £13 million. The transfer was driven by his fellow countryman Erik Ten Hag, but it didn’t work in Manchester, primarily due to injuries.
The defender required two rounds of surgery with a knee injury and made him on the sidelines for 17 months. He has appeared with the club only 47 times in three years and is sure to leave in 2026, when his contract expires, whether in January.
