Wayne Rooney claims that Florian Wiltz is now “abusing the balance” of Liverpool. The attacking midfielder was snapped by the Reds this summer on a groundbreaking £116 million deal with Bayer Leverkusen after being impressed by the club and country.
However, the 22-year-old has not impressed the UK soil so far, raising questions about his suitability for the Premier League. With 10 goals and 13 assists, he assisted his name last year, and combined with the price tag from around his club record, there were high expectations for Wirtz when he arrived at Anfield.
However, he has made six league appearances in his name this season, and has not made a comeback in terms of goals or assists. As for Rooney, Manchester United legend believes he’s getting better now, but he may now be throwing a spanner in the Arne Slot setup.

On his Wayne Rooney show on YouTube, Pandit, who turned player, said: “It was tough for him, and I don’t think I’ll deny that.
“I think he’s OK and played well, but when you sign a lot of players like Liverpool, this is not normal for Liverpool. Liverpool doesn’t usually do this, so he signed a whole new frontline.
“So they’re all competing, they want to do everything well, they’re all fighting each other to get to the team, and I think Wirtz is probably the guy who isn’t doing well.
“I think it was a lot of money. I’d have gone to (Hugo) Ekichike and (Alexander) Isaac. I think Wiltz actually undermines Liverpool’s balance.
“But he’s a top player. Of course, I’m sure he’ll get better. But he’s off to a slow start and I won’t deny that.”
Liverpool put their style in this summer to give them the best chance to maintain their Premier League title this season, welcoming Entracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitique and British record fee of £125 million.
