Chelsea has been charged by the Football Association with alleged violations of regulations regarding third-party investment in soccer agents, intermediaries and players.
Jose Mourinho made a cheeky swipe in Manchester City when asked about 74 Chelsea charges from the Football Association. Chelsea has been charged by the governing body with alleged violations of regulations regarding transactions with third-party investments in soccer agents, intermediaries and players.
Prices range from 2009 to 2022, and mainly covers the period from the 2010/11 to 2015/16 campaign. Meanwhile, there is another issue involving City, who was charged in February 2023 for historic violations of the Premier League Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules between 2009 and 2018.
The city has vehemently denied all charges and, alongside the top English flight, awaits the outcome of the Independent Committee hearing.

Now former Blues manager, Mourinho, has placed a heavy emphasis on Chelsea’s 74 charges. It was mentioned when he mentioned the city’s case prior to the Benfica clash with Enzo Maresca’s team on Tuesday.
“Not Man City? I don’t know. I don’t know about it. I don’t know what the accusation is, I’m going to try to understand,” he said at a pre-game press conference on Monday.
Mourinho is excited to return to the stadium, which is very important to him, but he remains completely focused on helping Benfica bring out the surprising results.
He said: “Of course I always go blue. I’m part of their history, and they’re part of me.
“I helped them become a bigger Chelsea and they helped me become a bigger Jose. When I say I’m not blue, I’m talking about the work I have to do tomorrow. There aren’t many clubs that do these pictures.
“There’s a lot of clubs having fear about what’s happened in the past. Sometimes we want to remove people who made history with the club. This shows that Chelsea is a big club.”
Mourinho was also impressed by the work Maresca has done since becoming Chelsea head coach in the summer of 2024.
“To be honest, I don’t know any models,” he added. “I’ve never studied their models.
“There was a set period when I myself had some question marks outside (and above) because it seemed like Chelsea had lost their club identity.
“They gave Enzo trust and his ideas. He fits well with the club’s philosophy.”
