Real Madrid had concerns that their summer signatures could not be signed for eight weeks. However, it appears that Alexander Arnold will now be returning within a month of injury.
In the most optimistic timeline, he returned in that time slot following his first Champions League match against Marseille, but is reportedly expected now. This means that right backs can play at Anfield after all.

Madrid-based sports newspaper Marca reports that Alexander Arnold is expected to be a perfect fit after an international break. However, during that time, the publication states that Xabi Alonso’s head coach promoted David Jimenez to his first team.
Jimenez was on the bench for a La Liga Liga match between Espanyol and Levante, but remained an unused replacement. Instead of playing mainly at Atletico and the Madrid Derby, the 21-year-old plays for the club’s reserve team, Castila, as he did last weekend.
However, Alonso is said to have full faith in Zimenez if the need arises to put him on the field. Marca suggests that the young man has beaten his manager and labels him as “something chosen to secure more positions left to be revealed.”
Federico Valverde and Raul Asencio have previously featured the campaign, with Dani Carvajal on the sidelines once more and just returned from a serious knee injury in the summer.
This time it’s his calves in question, and reportedly keeps him out for five weeks. So, if neither Alexander Arnold nor the Spaniards were on time, then Zimenez could find himself playing at Anfield.
