Marcus Rashford brought another rigorous reminder of his talent to Manchester United this weekend. Reuben Amorim’s side endured yet another Premier League setback, but Barcelona lenders extended his impressive form in Spain. Rashford supported the Catalan giants as the Catalan giants defeated Real Sociedaddo after the visitors took the lead in 31 minutes.
The 27-year-old England star rose to the opportunity from the set piece and picked up Jules Kaunde in the corner to equalize just before the interval. Rising star Ramin Yamal then provided the assist of experienced frontman Robert Lewandowski when Barcelona climbed to the top of the La Liga, and is now a point away from his fierce rival Real Madrid.
The Rashford assist took the campaign’s third mark, increasing the overall target contribution of the season to five. It was a sharp U-turn as he was criticized for being late for a meeting at his new club, and was soon dropped to the bench by Hansi Flick.
The United Academy alumni currently shares the most goal contributions in all competitions at his new club. After his recent contributions, there is a level with Ferran Torres and Rafinha.
United’s improved attack trio of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko have accumulated three target contributions so far.
The latter found his Maiden Goal net in United Colour during his defeat to Brentford. Amorim’s team struggled once again in front of the goal.
