Brian Mbemo has settled in a well at Manchester United and already loves life under Reuben Amorim.
Brian Mbemo has argued that Reuben Amorim’s “inspiring” way will help Manchester United return to the top of British football.
The £71 million summer recruit from Brentford is set to face his old team for the first time since his move, and has already made waves at United and has won the award of the month in August.
Already scoring twice, he soon established himself as a key player for his new club and is almost certain to be on his side to head to the bees on Saturday. A victory over Brentford was his manager’s record for the first time in a row in the league.
Asked about the difference between Amorim and his former boss Thomas Frank, he said: “Really good. I’ve found some similarities between them. He’s always trying to train in a fun way. I think this is really important – enjoying it with football, as it makes life more enjoyable.
“The new manager is a challenge for me. The training sessions are intense. He wants us to do a lot and put in great effort.

He added: “I think it’s important to improve and make it better that I’m here every day. That’s what I do all the time. Over time, the team can work really hard for it.
“They (United players) were quick to welcome me. They’re a big part of that. Changing cities and clubs always takes a little time, but everyone helped me a lot.”
“When I first arrived somewhere, I don’t like to want to do it loudly or show myself well, but I managed to get along with people and now that’s what I did. That’s great. It’s a big club – everything about it – and I’m really happy.”
Players also praised Carrington’s vibe. “You really want to come here and do your job because your teammates, staff and everyone at Carrington are great people.
Mbeumo, who moved from the French Troys to Brentford in 2019, revealed the challenges he faced with adaptation to a new culture and playing style.
“The cultures are clearly different, so it was a huge change and so was the food!” Mbeumo said. “That’s very different. Even though I was able to speak a bit of English before, the same goes for language.”
“But especially the food. The ridge was different. I didn’t have it before I came here. Do you have it every morning? No!”
“I think League 2 is more tactical than Championships. But the Championships are more physical and more intense. And it’s the same as England in general. In the Premier League, there are more intense games than in the French league.”
