United currently sits in 11th place, struggling to improve their results after a disastrous campaign last season.
They scored seven points and were knocked out of the League Cup with a shocklos against Grimsby in two wins, two losses and one draw so far.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday ahead of the weekend game, Amorim said he understands that, given the club’s recent track record, he will be entering the fan game.
“It’s normal for fans. They don’t know what will happen in the next game,” he said.
“To be totally honest, I have an idea, but I don’t know what it will happen. I’m the manager of the team. It has to do with the moment we’ve been living for months. The best way to handle it is that every game is the last game.
“The next game will be the most important game for Manchester United in a long time.
Amorim admitted that three points and two wins are essential in a row.
He said: “It’s really important and we talked about it at the end of the game. It’s really important to us that we have a sense of urgency that we need to win, and that’s really going to be really difficult.
“Every time we start preparing for the game and see our next opponent, I think, ‘It’s going to be really, really tough.’ I have that feeling.
“We don’t have control over the outcome of the game, but the most important thing for me is to start the game the way we started playing against Chelsea, how we played against Burnley, how we started with Arsenal.
Amorim can call forwards for Brian Mbemo, who will be making his first appearance against Brentford after leaving the club for Old Trafford in the summer.
“We’re giving Amado all the support” – Diallo to escape the Brentford conflict
He added:
“Amado is not here, someone from his family has passed away, so we are giving Amado all the support, so we knew it was important for him to have his time and get home (in Manchester).
The Portuguese also said that Noussair Mazraoui will not return for choice until after the upcoming international break.
