Gary Neville believes that players will start questioning Mikel Arteta’s tactics if Arsenal Manager continues to adopt a safety-first approach in the big game after he again denounces Arsenal Manager for playing with the handbrake.

Gunners snatched the percentage of booty against Manchester City, courtesy of Gabriel Martinelli’s final goal in a 1-1 draw last weekend. However, the big topic following the game has been centered around Arteta’s tactics and team selection, not Ebebeki Eze, who chose Mikel Merino and teeed Martinelli’s late equalizer after leaving the bench, but also about team selection after playing with Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi in the midfield.

Neville and his Sky Sports colleague Jamie Carrager accused Arteta of playing handbrake after the game, but only did Arteta come back this week. However, Neville doubles his point, asserting that Arteta’s reluctance to make more attacks in big games will not be lost to his own players.

“I don’t think 60,000 or 70,000 fans are wrong about how they feel. I don’t think we’re in the studio or in the stadium either,” Sky Sports commentators said in a duplicate.

“The big thing for me is the players. He names that team on Friday afternoons. For example, on Thursday afternoon, he excludes Eze, he excludes Martinelli, he puts him in Torosad and Merino.

“He may have been attacking more at Anfield, but he may not have attacked the city from the start.”

In response to others who discussed the selection and tactics of teams, such as Neville, Carager, Arteta noted on Tuesday that, in his view, Arsenal’s philosophy is one of the most attacking in the Premier League.

But Neville doesn’t agree with him, and the former Arsenal midfielder thinks he’s likely to regret his approach if he doesn’t do any more in the game after spending a lot of money on a new attacker in the summer transfer window.

Neville continues: “He will regret this if he doesn’t start to remove his handbrake. I have players who need to play in these games, so I repeat the comment “handbrake”.

“Looking back at the end of the season, you can’t think of it as ‘I lost at Anfield, I lost at home against the city, I lost five points in these two games and I could choose a team that attacked more.’ I think there are issues that are beginning to become patterns for him. ”
