Manchester United sold Antony in a big defeat in the Transfer Window, and the winger enjoyed a real Betis impactful game in the Europa League to forget for Ir Jim Ratcliffe
Antony was a real Betis inspiration as the Spanish side led Nottingham Forest to a 2-2 draw in the Europa League on Wednesday night. The side of Ange Postecoglou ruled the case in Seville, but was denied a victory by Antony’s equalizer.
Antony left Manchester United and signed a permanent contract with £21.65 million on transfer deadline as he enjoyed his loan in Spain last season. He flops following the £82 million transfer from Ajax to United, but the Brazilian has already become Betis’ heroes.
Forest was celebrating his first return to European football in nearly 30 years, but failed to secure his first victory in the post-Coglu era as the former Tottenham boss made four games with his new club without a victory. Forest striker Igor Jesus scored twice, but it was Antony who gave the final laugh.
Betis’ winger first spotted Cedric Bakhamb. He scored with strong finishes on the roof of the net. Jesus equalized the forest by tap-in before placing it on 2-1 with a header from the corner.

However, Antony appeared in the back post in the 85th minute, before exacting before celebrating by pointing a tattoo on his neck with the words “Illuminado.” Betis fans certainly mean that in his fraction of his new club he almost passes his total goals and assists, almost surpassing his assists.
United owner Jim Ratcliffe cited Antony as a kind of failure in the transfer market he wants to eliminate now that Ineo is taking over the club. “The players we buy this summer, we didn’t buy, we’re buying Antony, we’re buying Casemiro, we’re buying (Andre) Onana, we’re buying (rasmus) hojlund, we’re buying (Jadon) Sancho,” Ratcliffe told the BBC.
“All of these are from the past. Whether we like them or not, we have to inherit them and sort them out. Some are not enough, and some are probably overpaid. But we have this period of transformation that moves from the past to the future, moving to form a squad where we are fully responsible and responsible.”
United have sold Antony to Betis this summer and suffered a huge loss, and his performance in Spain will not please Ratcliffe if they continue. The Petrochemical billionaire had to go elsewhere on Wednesday for football corrections as United finished 15th last season in European competition and finished 15th in the Europa League final.
Ratcliffe was found in the stands of his other clubs. Thanks to goals from Evan Ndica and Gianluca Mancini, Roma beaten 2-1 in the Europa League.
United will return to action against Brentford this weekend when they hope Ratcliffe wins Chelsea 2-1. He may secretly want Antony’s Sevilla food stall shape, but Onana, Hozilund and Sancho are trying to prove he’s wrong while being rented out at Trabzonspor, Naples and Aston Villa, respectively.
