The Welsh Football Association is reportedly in contact with Tottenham Winger Mikey Moore about the possibility of switching international loyalty from England.
Wales reportedly makes a play for Tottenham’s highly acclaimed winger, Mikey Moore, in an attempt to convince him to switch international loyalty from England.
The BBC reports that the Welsh Football Association has already contacted the 18-year-old who is already lending it to the Premier League Side Spurs Rangers.
Head coach Craig Bellamy has been suggested to be particularly interested in the prospect of leading Moore to the fold, and is believed to have chatted with London-born players who are qualified for Welsh through their grandparents.
Moore held the record as the youngest player to play for the Spurs in the Premier League, making his debut just 16 years old, 277 days ago, and came out from the bench in May 2024, losing 2-0 to Manchester City.

He also broke Jimmy Greaves’ record by scoring with Elfsborg in the club’s successful Europa League campaign last season and becoming the youngest English scorer in Europe’s major competition, Wales reports online.
Moore represented England to the under-19 level and scored three goals in 11 games for three young lions. If he decides to make the switch, he will follow in the footsteps of players like Jordan James and David Brooks.
The Winger has competed six times in every competition in this campaign, but his spell at Ibrox has been marked by a challenging beginning, with the club still looking for a victory for the first Scottish Premiership of the season.
As a result, the youth position in Starting XI fired from supporters, but he remains considered a promising talent.
Manager Russell Martin, who has been putting pressure on after a disappointing start to the team’s season, previously supported Moore as a player aimed at greatness.
“We’re excited to lend Mikey this season,” he said after the club completed the move.
“His profile as a brave and offensive attacker is something we were keen to add to our team, and he is certainly a player who can influence the team from day one despite his age.
“He’s a player with great potential and it’s proof that he’s been entrusted with such regularity over the past 18 months, both in the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League.”
Similarly enthusiastic Spurs manager Thomas Frank commented: “Mikey is a huge talent and I’m really excited about his future here at Tottenham, and I think it’s necessary to have consistent first team football, especially for the younger players.
“If we can find the right options, I think we’ll do that.”
Wales is preparing for an important international break next month, with away-friendly plans to go against England on October 9th, with an important World Cup qualifier against Belgium taking place just four days later.
Bellamy is scheduled to announce his team in these two games next Tuesday.
