Manchester United have said goodbye to many first-team players during the summer transfer period, including celebrities such as Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho
After the campaign, the club was likely to have been a busy summer at Manchester United, which marked the lowest ever finish in Premier League times.
That’s why it was proven when the Red Devils spent over £200 million on new employees and moved many stars that were considered surplus in their requirements. United continued to endure a mixed start of the new season, with some of the 10 first-team players who moved during the summer transfer period had similar fate from Old Trafford.
It’s still early days for the new club stars, but some of them are better than others in the opening week of the season. Here, Miller Football is running the rules on how they are riding…

Alejandro Garnacho
It was a slow start to life at Stamford Bridge in Garnacho. Garnacho joined Chelsea on a £40 million deal. He was given his first start with the Carabao Cup Lincoln City on Tuesday night, but it wasn’t a game to live long in memory. To rub salt into his wounds he was jealous of him all night by Lincoln fans and left the field to the rendition of “You’re f***ing***.”
Garnacho clearly lacked talent, and his lack of action before the season means that an early exit against Lincoln was probably always on the card. However, considering his previous two cameo appearances on League One’s opposition and his two other cameo appearances, Garnacho has yet to capture the light.
Marcus Rashford
Perhaps the most famous departure from United this summer, Rashford got the move he wanted when Barcelona called to lend him out for the season. And to be fair to the British star, he was able to show some of the reasons why the Spanish giants wanted to land him. The double in an epic match against Newcastle in the Champions League definitely has highlighted Rashford’s spells in Nucamp so far.
Unfortunately for Rashford, things took a sour turn when they were depressed over the weekend as they stood up late for their training sessions. But the positives far outweighed the negative as he slipped off the bench and notched another assist.
Antony
Like Rashford, Antony has a specific destination in mind towards the summer and re-joined the real Betis again after a productive loan spell. The Brazilian winger was charming in Spain and looked like the player he thought United had been signed when he blew him £85 million north in the summer of 2021.
As for the current campaign, Antony has so far launched Betis’ LaLiga games this season, but has not yet registered any target contributions.
Rasmus Hojlund
Hozilund didn’t want to leave Manchester United, but he started all three games he played for Naples since joining the Italian champions on loan. He should make his debut in the Serie, score a goal and increase his great confidence after going on a regular long-term routine without scoring on a United shirt.
Andre Onana
After losing his place in the team, Onana was offered the opportunity to kickstart his career in Turkey after a difficult time at Old Trafford. He didn’t enjoy his perfect debut, but he made a decent impression and continued to notch the assists in the appearance of his second Turkish super rig.
The Cameroonian star is still waiting for his first clean sheet, but for players desperate to rediscover his top form, the two games and early signs are promising.
Jadon Sancho
Sancho joined Aston Villa on loan just before the transfer deadline. However, he hasn’t made an impression with his new club yet, but has featured as an alternative for just eight minutes in the Premier League. He played 74 minutes with Brentford in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
Victor Lindelof
Like Sancho, Lindelof will be relocating to Villa Park this summer after his contract with United expired. He is also rarely featured, and is the only Premier League appearance to appear in a villa shirt in a seven-minute cameo with Everton.
Christian Eriksen
Eriksen had just linked to another club and signed Wolfsberg in Bundesliga costumes. He only appeared in place of the club – 30 minutes in his recent 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund – but was criticized by former Danish International Thomas Gravesen for training with Swedish Said Malmo before joining his new club.
Toby Koria
United have high hopes at Collier and West Bromwich Albion. He has been featured in all five of the Buggies league games so far, but hasn’t started on the side of Ryan Mason, who is seventh at the table.
Harry’s accumulation
Amass has linked to Wednesday’s Crisis Club Sheffield and has started both league games since leaving Old Trafford despite playing a more advanced role on the left. Like Collyer, a season that plays regularly in the championships is expected to become a benificent for the development of talented youth.
