Hugo Ekichique picked up a strange red card during a Liverpool League Cup clash with Southampton on Tuesday night. The forward began with emphasising life at Liverpool, with Ekitique scoring the club’s fifth goal in a third round tie.
Ekitique was the excitement of the Frenchman after scoring with the championship outfit. The only problem was that Ekitike had already been booked early in the contest, making it a second bookable violation.
Ekitique’s teammates quickly realized what the forward had done. It was too late as the judge had held the yellow and subsequent red cards in his hand, forcing Ekitique to head to the early shower.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot could have problems. This will cause problems given Reds are doing tricky tests in Southampton over the weekend. Liverpool was beaten to the palace at the Community Shield earlier this year, and Ekitique was impressed by the Slot’s side with the results.
