Marcus Rashford was scheduled to face Getafe against Barcelona on Sunday evening, but Manchester United lender was dropped to the bench by Hansi Flick after being late for training
Marcus Rashford was reportedly dropped by Barcelona manager Hansi Frick after falling behind in training. Rashford was penciled in to launch a home collision in Barcelona’s LaLiga with Getafe on Sunday evening, but was removed from the starting lineup.
A few days after netting a great double against Newcastle in the Champions League, Manchester United lenders appeared to be reviving their Catalonian career. However, similar to the athletic and Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Rashford reports that he arrived late to the team’s morning training session ahead of Sunday’s league equipment.
Flick reportedly reportedly revealed to Rashford that punctuality was unacceptable, bringing the 27-year-old the same sanctions previously imposed on Jules Condo, Inaki Pena and Rafina for violating the same rules. Flick has a strict policy of not choosing to start if players are late for training or meetings.

Ferran Torres was chosen in the starting eleven instead, and Rashford fell to the bench. It was not the first opportunity for Rashford to be punished for late.
During the impressive 2022/23 campaign for United under Eric Ten Hug, Dutchman eliminated Rashford from his starting lineup with Wolverhampton Wanderers mid-season.
Rashford admitted that he was dropped on the bench because he was replaced. On that occasion, England International got off the bench and took the target of victory.
United Manager Ten Hag then described the violation as an “internal disciplinary matter” and chose to bench Rashford before taking him at halftime. After the match, Rashford admitted:
“I’m clearly disappointed that I won’t play, but I understand this decision. I’m happy that I was able to win the game anyway. I think I can draw a line underneath it and move on.”
When quized by TNT about his absence, he confessed: “I was a little late to the meeting. I fell asleep.
Rashford joined Barcelona on loan for the July season. On the Spanish side, there is the option to make travel permanent for £30.3 million.
