PGMOL is being asked to change rules regarding Premier League suspension times. Liverpool only added three minutes at the end of the second half after beating Everton 2-1 at Anfield.
The Merseyside Derby certainly lived up to the reputation of neutral fans. The Reds quickly established a 2-0 lead at halftime. Following a great goal from Ryan Gravenburch, Hugo Ekitique’s fourth goal of the season firmly put the Reds in the driver’s seat.
But Everton has returned to the game thanks to Idrissa Gay’s strike. Unfortunately for Bruce, the push to the equalizer was hampered by adding just three minutes of stop time in the second half.

Liverpool managed to stick to the victory, but the disappointment from the away side was obvious. David Moyes was seen facing referee Darren England after the match, and Jack Grail won the reservation after a full-time whi before being led by Jordan Pickford.
In a post-match interview, Moe said: “The three minutes were very strange. I had to stop all the quick free kicks and take it home for the whistle. Then I get a reservation (take a quick free kick).
Meanwhile, Grealish added: “Even the suspension time was three minutes, one minute – I’ve never seen it in the Premier League in the last two or three years. I was unhappy with the referee.”
In response to Everton’s complaints, former Premier League umpire Keith Hackett suggested to the Football Insider that PGMOL should consider changing its rules regarding downtime. He said: “Remember when you added 10, 11, 14 minutes of a Premier League match?
“It lasted about six weeks. Three minutes in today’s Merseyside Derby. That’s not enough.
“Deputies must timing the game from the hands of game officials and introduce independent timekeepers who run the suspension within the stadium.
“If you do that, there will be fewer players getting injured, but there will probably be fewer stops. They’ll want to continue the game, right?”
