Paris Saint-Germain’s clash with Ligue 1 Marseille has been postponed due to harsh weather conditions in the Bouches du Loon region of France and will be performed instead on Monday (September 22). The match, originally scheduled for Sunday evening, was cancelled after officials disagreeed with the new date amid heated debate.
Having won all four league matches this season, PSG was set to face the Marseille side, who had a mixed start to the campaign. They won two of their first four games.
Roberto des Zerbi’s team, who finished second in PSG last season, is hoping to challenge the Paris Giants for this semester title.

The Bouche du Rohne area, where Marseille is located, was given an orange warning due to rain, floods and thunderstorms.
The decision to postpone the match was confirmed by the League 1 boss in a statement released hours before kickoff.
According to French football journalist Fabrice Hawkins, there was a heated debate behind the scenes about when the rescheduled match would take place.
League rules state that if you can’t start a game due to bad weather, you’ll need to play the next day.
“The Olympics des Marseilles acknowledge the decision of the Bouches-Du-Rhône to postpone the scheduled PSG match tonight for security reasons related to weather conditions in the region.
“From the professional soccer league and in accordance with its regulations, this match will be rescheduled at Orange Verodrome on Monday, September 22nd at 8pm.
“The club is telling supporters that tickets purchased for tonight’s game will be valid for tomorrow’s rescheduled game.
“Olympics de Marseilles regrets that it’s not right for players tonight to play tonight’s match, as there are already mobilized supporters and for the full visibility of the event.”
