Alejandro Garnacho was once one of the Manchester United poster boys, but his relationship with fans was hit after another, leading to his sour reception when he returned with Chelsea
Manchester United fans revealed their feelings towards Alejandro Garnacho in abundance when they returned to Old Trafford with Chelsea. Despite his new club being beaten 2-1 by Reuben Amorim’s side, United supporters took every opportunity to take Argentina to the barracks.
Garnacho got off the Chelsea team’s bus and was booed and jealed during the warm-up. The reaction should have been expected, as there were regular question marks about his attitude at United.
Then, following the devastating Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, he blotted the copybook again with a stinging rating of the club’s season, calling it “S ***”, complaining that he wouldn’t start the game. By that point, Garnacho’s relationship with Amorim had already broken. The club wanted to off-road him in the summer.
It was a sad situation considering how highly he was praised by United at one point. His incredible overhead kick at Everton in 2023 comes to mind. He was once considered one of the club’s young poster boys, but a series of misdemeanors and spatts have not healed the relationship between the club and its fan base.
I went outside Old Trafford
Garnacho once returned to the fans with a five-word reply after being goed outside Old Trafford. One candid individual gave the attacker his heart when he signed the sign and posed for a photo in front of a Europa League tie with Poak last November.

They said: “Garnacho, you have to pass better than today, yeah, please?
With his achievements, Garnacho kept him cool and replied, “Why are you not playing, man?” He then headed to the dressing room.
Another quarrel with the fans
Following his Europa League final, there was still time to make headlines for the wrong reasons before Garnacho moved to Chelsea. He joined United on a postseason tour to Asia, but was caught up in the cameras that allegedly pushed supporters while in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
The video, originally posted to Tiktok, shows Garnacho wearing sunglasses and a gold chain.
“Both, you pushed me,” the supporters insisted as Garnacho left. From the footage it is unclear whether Garnacho actually pushed individuals. But again, it summarised how his relationship with fans worsened during his last few days at United.
I’m wearing a Rashford villa shirt
In June, Garnacho further confused fans by wearing an Aston Villa shirt against the backdrop of “Rashford 9” in honor of fellow United “bomb squad” members. Garnacho, who was still a United player at the time, decided to upload the shot to his Instagram page.
Rashford commented on “My Brother” in the post, accompanied by a Love Heart emoji before Lone moved to Barcelona. But it didn’t go very well with United supporters who were tired of his antics and recognized his lack of respect for his employer.
Although Rashford may have been more respected since the end of Stratford, given his much longer relationship with the club, both stars left their desired moves in the summer window.
“ai” farewell message
Garnacho didn’t read the room as he wrote a farewell message to United. He writes: “After five unforgettable years, this special chapter of my life is approaching.
“We created a moment with me forever and I am extremely grateful for this. Thank you to my coach, staff and my teammates for believing in me.
“Every time I put on my badge, I gave everything I had, I am proud of what we achieved together and I am excited about what will come.
“I hope the club does nothing but future success, but I look forward to providing it all in the next chapter of my career.”
It is no exaggeration to say that Noren had not traveled back and forth from the fans. Simply said: “Betrayal.”
Added in the second: “I miss the player. Not an attitude.” The third suggested, “The AI wrote this.” Another advice: “All the best young guys. Stop being arrogant, play soccer (and) you bump into your potential.”
Following his move, followed by lack of game time, Garnacho was able to get a start from Enzo Maresca when Chelsea visited Lincoln City at the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
