Alexis Mac Alistair confessed that he and his Liverpool teammates are frustrated by the saga of the elicited transfer involving Alexander Isaac before his famous switch. The Swedish forward was caught up in a summer battle with Newcastle, expressing his desire to join the Premier League champions.

However, it wasn’t until the deadline that he finally signed on the dotted line after Liverpool and their top flight rivals agreed to a record £125 million deal. Isak was forced to train separately from the Magpie’s first team during pre-season season preparations, resulting in him reaching Anfield, who lacked sharpness in match.

His debut came only during a thrilling 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday. The 25-year-old managed just under an hour between Spain’s Pulsing Champions League virginia, with the Reds leaving the pitch with a 2-1 lead, with captain Virgil Vandic’s final winner earning three points.

Arne Slot’s team was talking about town after relying on a series of late goals to secure three points early in the title defense.

The acquisition of ISAK was part of spending in Merseyside offset by several departures, including Lewis Diaz, Darwin Nunes, Harvey Elliott, Ben Ganon Doak, Tyler Morton, Jarrell Kuansa and Khaoimhin Keleher.

Despite speculation over financial spending at Anfield, Mac Alistair has expressed his excitement to welcome Isaac to his team and is confident that it will be a success for the Reds.

“It was a big deal at first, but after a while, it was too long so I was a little tired,” Mac Allister shared with TNT Sports, delving into the long transfer process.

“But we all know he’s a player. He’s really, really important and I’m happy to have him here.”

Mac Allister realised that Newcastle was not happy with how the event unfolded, saying, “The other clubs may not be happy, but that’s the way they play football and they paid quite a bit, so I think it’s good for both clubs.

“What he wanted is good for him. We know he is him and we’ve suffered from him several times, so we’re so happy to have him.”

Liverpool is looking to maintain their position at the top of the table as they face Everton in the Merseyside Derby at 12:30pm on Saturday.

Toffee will disrupt the Reds title ambition following the Reds To the Reds campaign, securing victory in all four opening fixtures.
