My fisherman’s father has a “hard life” rather than Raheem Sterling, says Enzo Maresca, who is arguing about the player whose Chelsea boss was exiled.

Sterling and Disasi are frozen in Chelsea under Maresca and trained separately from their first team.

“I was in Raheem and Axel situation as a player,” said Chelsea manager Mareska.

“I know that’s not the best feeling for players. For a variety of reasons, the situation is the situation at the moment, but the clubs are giving them the situation to work the right way.

“That’s what you want to talk about, but it’s not just Chelsea. It’s any club in the world. I can promise you. Italy, Spain, the UK, France, the US, Brazil, any country in the world. For some reason, if the players and clubs are not involved in the squad, then you’re not involved in the team.”

Asked about the challenges that Sterling and the disaster dealt with, Maresca said:

“This is a difficult life – not the way players work.”

Sterling is one of Chelsea’s most profitable players, and has been on a contract until 2027, but in 2029 Disasi’s contract expires.

Alejandro Garnacho’s new signature was able to get his first start at Chelsea against former Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Garnacho has appeared in two alternatives so far since joining Chelsea.

“We’re pleased with the way he adapts to our style, what we want from the winger,” Maresca said. “I think he’s ready to start tomorrow.”
