Manchester City 2-0 Napoli: Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doc scored in the second half, ensuring Pep Guardiola’s men get off to the best start for their Champions League campaign
The ruthless Manchester City put 10 Napoli in the sword with goals from Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doc, capping a bittersweet Etihad return for club legend Kevin de Bruin.
The main incident in the first half was the firing of Giovanni di Lorenzo. He was shown a red card to carry Haaland as he was on his way through the goal following the VAR intervention. It led to a re-shuffle of Naples, idolized by the blue half of Manchester, de Bruin was sacrificed when he returned to Manchester just 26 minutes later.
Despite controlling ownership, City was unable to make the most of the numerical advantage before the break, but Haaland led them in the second half after being skilled by Brightfilfoden.
