There was even a time when Spurs’ new boy, Randall Koro Muani, made his debut.
The Spurs felt a slow terror when Mickey Van des Ben fouled Georges Micatazze, who fell into the box, and Valcheck backed up the referee’s instinct to give him a free kick rather than a penalty. Pepe’s free kick just flew wide and Tottenham’s victory was safe.
