TNT Sports was forced to apologise ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League opening match against Napoli due to technical issues. Kevin de Bruin, along with former Manchester United pairs Rasmus Hozilund and Scott McTominai, was hoping to derail the city’s prospects for a strong beginning in Europe’s finest competition.
Nevertheless, pre-match coverage of the station at Etihad Stadium was disrupted by the glitch that led TNT Sports to show Newcastle United and Barcelona in place. The disaster occurred at 7:15pm shortly after an interview with Gianluigi Donnaruma, with a few minutes of Northeast accumulation misbroadcast.
I got the message “I apologize for the technical difficulties. I’ll be back at Man City vs Napoli on TNT 2 and I’ll apologize soon.” Immediately after 7:31pm, normal service resumed and indicated that urban forces would come out for warm-up.
Presenter Reshmin Chowdhury announced:
“This is Etihad, and this will take on Italian champion Napoli in the opening game of the league phase this season. It will pit Pep Guardiola with Antonio Conte – what a match this is.
City took part in a match that attempted to copy Premier League rivals Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham by winning their first European game of the season.
Pep Guardiola’s team appeared in the Champions League opener from the Manchester Derby victory over Manchester United, running out a 3-0 winner against his neighbors.
They aim to get better in Europe this season as they lost in the playoff round to Spanish Giants Real Madrid last season.
