Reuben Amorim’s calamitous man utd ruler suffers another big set break in Sunday’s 3-0 derby defeat at Man City, bringing even more doubts about the future of the head coach
During Manchester United’s summer tour in the US, Reuben Amorim admitted to using up all the credit he had with the bank last season.
Despite leading United to 15th place and earning the worst Premier League finish and missing Europe in the Europa League final, Amorim retained the support of United’s ranks and club fans.
Against that background, Amorim knew he couldn’t afford a poor start to this season. However, four points and a 3-0 loss of four games at Manchester City in Sunday’s Derby added credibility to the belief that Amorim’s era at United might soon rise.
Refusing to change the controversial 3-4-3 system, Amorim has won eight of 31 Premier League matches since taking over from Eric 10 hugs 10 months ago, despite the players not being able to adapt to it.

That evidence alone makes it seem that his appointment is an unexempt disaster, and the continued support from those in charge at United seem to be based on hope, rather than a firm expectation that the Portuguese head coach will soon change the situation.
Of course, we had previously shown that United’s current football leadership team was publicly supporting the manager, but we reeled that stance and plundered him a few weeks later. A year ago, CEO Omar Berada gave 10 of his clear support in the boardroom of Old Trafford, hours before United hosted arch rival Liverpool in the league.
United were humiliated 3-0 by Arne Slot’s side that day, and with 10 Hags gone in less than 10 weeks, they proved that Bellada’s verbal support was unworthy while the team continues to regress, as they do under Amorim.
The Portuguese head coach claims United is getting better, but there was no evidence of that meek surrender in the city on Sunday. Next, Amorim and his players are world champion Chelsea, travelling to Saturday’s stinky dream theatre.
Only they know how willing United hierarchies are to stick with Amorim when team performance and results show no signs of progress. The problem with Berrada is that he had to plunder him represents a humiliating personal failure, and promoted the appointment of Amorim to the point of raising just questions about his decisions in the future.
But with all the lame, error-laden performances and deplorable results, the possibility that Amorim was born out of this current crisis seems increasingly fantastical to bring United back to the top.

After Chelsea, United travelled to Brentford, then hosted Sunderland, before the next international break, their first game after a trip to Liverpool won the course to score the biggest points of the season and to win the 21-cent title to take their fierce rivals as the most successful club in England.
Whether Amorim will be at the Anfield Dugout on October 19 will depend on United’s fare in the next three games before the international break. Traditionally, the time for clubs to stock up and change managers is when they feel they need a new voice in the dressing room and training pitch.
Amorim, who offered to quit twice last season, knows he is in trouble, and knows that only an immediate rise in performance and results will not spare him from the same fate that his united predecessor suffered.
