The mystery surrounding Virgil van Dyke’s inexplicable exchange with Alexander Isaac after his final defeat to Newcastle United at Liverpool’s League Cup, Wembley, continues to plot fans, but Van Dick keeps the chat private.
“I haven’t told you!” he laughed after Liverpool’s victory at Burnley. “Maybe two or three years later, I’ll tell you, but not now. I don’t remember!”
On the ISAK’s subsequent record-breaking £125 million deadline, the transfer to Anfield on the deadline added fuel to speculation about the short chat.

Van Dik has expressed relief that the complications arising from Isaac’s move to champion have been resolved.
“I know it was a very difficult time,” admitted the 34-year-old. “When negotiations are constantly being dragged down, it’s never easy, and a lot of things happen behind the scenes.
“Not only me, but everyone who connected to the entire team and the club were very pleased that the deal was over.
“He’s here right now. He’s part of the family and it’s time for him to fit as quickly as possible, goals, assists, link-up plays, and Hugo (Ekitique) has already shown, pushed each other and brought them to the next level, which is important to us to us.”
Without ISAK, Liverpool found it difficult to penetrate the stubborn Burnley defense and needed a Mohamed Sara spot kick five minutes after the stoppage time.
Each of the four Reds victories is secured by the late winners of this campaign, with Van Dijk showing his determination that Arne Slot’s team will continue to fight and avoid frustration.
“We kept trying,” the Dutch captain said. “We played against a team that had a very low block, which was always difficult, and it could have been an easy draw because of the way they defended.
