Trent Alexander Arnold’s Champions League debut became a nightmare as his debut for Real Madrid was kicked off the pitch due to injuries just five minutes into the game. The 26-year-old, who started only two of Madrid’s first four LA La Liga games, pulled his hamstring early in the match against Marseille on Tuesday.
His chances to play in upcoming Champions League matches against his former team, Liverpool, are now under serious threats. Alexander Arnold is set to return to Anfield for the first time since his controversial departure at the end of last season.
The highly anticipated match between these top seed teams is scheduled for November 4th. Both teams competed for automatic qualifications, and Liverpool finished at the top of the league phase last season.
Alexander Arnold felt a hamstring pull on the right after playing a pass in just 2 minutes and 40 seconds of the game. Right back quickly sat on the pitch and saw a doctor from a staff member in Madrid.
It soon became clear that Alexander Arnold could not continue the match. He was replaced by Dani Carballard, who began his 2-1 victory over Madrid’s Real Sociedad on Saturday, maintaining a perfect start to the season.
